A multiagency drug operation led to 75 “mature marijuana plants” being seized from a field in southwestern Chatham County.
The operation was carried out on Monday with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the North Carolina Highway Patrol participating.
The plants ranged from one to eight feet in height, according to a release, with a street value of $150,000.
Authorities say the plants were “safely and properly destroyed.”
No arrests have been made at this time but officials say the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities are asking for anyone with information on the operation to contact the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office at (919) 542-2811.

WOW! Seventy-five whole plants! Street value of $150K! I’ll wager that the cost of the “multiagency drug operation” cost more than the street value of that weed.
Seizing marijuana seems so old fashioned. Did the cops take a horse and buggy to the grow? Send each other telegrams about the details?
Marijuana laws, transgender issues, gay marriage. North Carolina is about as backwards as a state can get.
