CARRBORO – Carrboro police are searching for a man wanted for questioning about a shooting that happened early Friday, leaving one person dead and another injured.

Officers responded to a call about a robbery and shooting around 2:00 a.m. at 105 Wesley St.

Captain Chris Atack said that when Carrboro Police arrived at the home, two people had sustained gunshot wounds.

David Lee Goodman, 27, of Durham, died on-scene, and the other person was transported to UNC Hospitals with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Police have not released that person’s identity.

The brother of the injured man called police, saying that two intruders broke into the home, attempting to rob them, and that one of them shot his brother in the head, according to the 911 call. Atack confirmed the caller was the homeowner.

The caller became frantic, pleading with the 911 operator to send an ambulance.

“At this point, we are still in the preliminary stages. We still have an active crime scene and the SBI is here assisting us with collecting evidence. We are at the point where we don’t have a lot of the details necessary to have the whole story. We can’t speculate at this point what we have,” Atack said.
