An Orange County resident was taken to Duke Hospital after a suspect in a home invasion allegedly assaulted the victim with a rifle.
The victim called authorities after three suspects allegedly broke into their home on Greenstead Drive between Efland and Mebane, according to an email from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim reported to authorities that the suspects went to a bedroom and were looking for money. That is when the suspects assaulted the victim with a rifle, according to law enforcement.
Authorities said there was no suspect information available at this time.
