DURHAM – Another 60-day period has come and gone, and once again the Durham County District Attorney will ask the North Carolina Superior Court to seal the murder investigation documents of UNC student Faith Hedgepeth.

Assistant District Attorney Charlene Franks told WCHL that she is waiting to present the request to Judge Orlando Hudson when his schedule allows. Hudson signed the fifth order to seal the documents in mid-September.

Hedgepeth was found murdered in her off-campus apartment on September 7, 2012.

On January 8, Chapel Hill Police released details of the investigation including DNA of a male suspect found at the scene. Little information has been released other than that.

The Chapel Hill Police Department continues to express that this is not a cold case and that it is continuing to follow leads.

Police continue seeking any information that could help in the investigation. Call the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-614-6363 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.

A reward up to $39,000  is still available to someone submitting information that assists in the case.
