Amid the Homecoming celebration over the weekend at UNC, local police were conducting an ALERT operation in Carrboro and Chapel Hill.

Police say the purpose of the operation was to enforce underage drinking and open container violations.

One of the individuals cited on Saturday night was 18-year-old Peyton Fedora. The address listed for Fedora on the police report is a property that is owned by UNC head football coach Larry Fedora, according to county property records, and Fedora does have a daughter named Peyton among his four children.

The arrest report says Fedora was using the ID “attempting to gain entry into Pantano [sic] Bob’s in Chapel Hill.” Police say it was determined the identification was fraudulent and that the teenager admitted that it was a fake ID and that she had purchased it in Chapel Hill.

Officers noted that Fedora was “polite and cooperative.”

UNC spokesperson Kevin Best said in an e-mail to WCHL that Fedora “is aware of the citation and the family is dealing with this matter privately.”

Fedora was released at the scene, according to the police report, and given a citation for misdemeanor possession of a fraudulent ID. A court date connected to the case was listed as December 13.

Chapel Hill Police Lt. Josh Mecimore said that three individuals, including Fedora, were cited as part of the operation.
