Chatham County officials are seeking public assistance identifying a robbery suspect.

Authorities say a white male suspect entered Jordan Dam Mini Mart in Moncure around 10:30 p.m. on October 29 and demanded money. The suspect was “unable to obtain the requested cash,” according to a release, but he “grabbed a bag of trail mix prior to fleeing the premises.”

Deputies with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office later discovered the suspect had attempted to break into two vehicles in the convenience store parking lot and was successful in one of those attempts.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 20 and 30 years old with brown hair.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or his whereabouts is asked to call Investigator Carrol with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office at (919) 548-8649.
