A Chatham County traffic stop led to a large drug seizure and arrest of a Bear Creek woman.

Authorities say Chatham County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped a vehicle on HWY 64 east of Pittsboro on January 25. A subsequent search of the vehicle led deputies to find approximately 541 grams of edible THC gummies, THC wax and other “THC granule substances” in addition to $468 in cash inside the vehicle, according to law enforcement.

Deputies then searched the suspect’s home and found an additional 1,915 grams of THC edibles, THC liquids in syringes, marijuana, 12 firearms and $1,550 in cash.

Authorities have charged 32-year-old Ashley Talley, of Edwards Hill Church Road, with one count of possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, one county of felony possession of marijuana, one count of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additional charges are pending, according to the sheriff’s office

Talley was given a $5,000 secured bond and was scheduled to make her first court appearance on Monday, January 29.
