Chatham County authorities are searching for multiple suspects after a reported home invasion Tuesday.

Law enforcement officials say deputies found a 56-year-old victim shot in both legs after deputies responded to an address near Brittany Lane in Chapel Hill around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a release. Authorities said in an update on Wednesday afternoon that the victim was recovering in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, but authorities are searching for two white male suspects with facial hair, described as being in their mid-20s to late-30s and, according to witnesses, were last scene wearing jeans and black or brown winter coats with hoods. The suspects fled the scene on foot, according to law enforcement.

K-9 units from Carrboro Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office each responded to assist with tracking efforts.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Chatham County Sheriff’s Office investigators at (919) 542-2911.
