A grant of nearly $60,000 will be distributed among local artists and nonprofit groups by the Orange County Arts Commission to promote high-quality arts activities.

Purveyors of those activities may be eligible to apply for a portion of that grant as individual residents or as organizations that have operated for over one year.

Briefings on the application process will be held at the Link Government Services Conference Room on April 6 and the Chapel Hill Public Library on April 18.

Both briefings will start at 6:00 PM and are intended to educate applicants on significant changes that were made by the commission to the grants process.

The Orange County Arts Commission was founded in 1985 by the Orange County Board of Commissioners to foster local artistic and cultural development.
