The North Carolina Botanical Garden is a peaceful retreat on more than 900 acres just south of the UNC campus. Its nature trails make for wonderful walking, but its scientific mission also makes it a vital home for research and preservation of thousands of plants native to the Carolinas. Separate gardens recreate the varied habitats from across our state, from the coastal plains to the mountains. Come to stroll on any sunny day, or sign up for one of their many classes.
