LAX False Alarm

People evacuated Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday after reports of a gunman surfaced.  But, it was a false alarm.

Police did detain a man dressed Zorro who was armed with a plastic sword.  He was released shortly later.

Scientists Simulate Mars in Hawaii

Six scientists completed a yearlong Mars simulation in Hawaii.

They lived in a dome on a Mauna Loa mountain and could only go outside in spacesuits.  It’s the longest mission of its kind since a Russian mission lasted 520 days.  Learn more.

Park Problems

The National Park Service recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.  But they are running into problems like illegal camping, vandalism, theft of resources, wildlife harassment and other visitor misbehavior.  People are also putting themselves in harm’s way.
