Dr. Matthew Milowsky is Monday’s Hometown Hero.
Dr. Milowsky is on a mission to educate the world about bladder cancer. While it is not on many people’s radar, it is not an uncommon form of cancer. Bladder cancer effected an estimated 74,000 people in the United States in 2015.
Dr. Milowsky works at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center is a cancer research and treatment center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. UNC Lineberger’s clinical base is the N.C. Cancer Hospital, the only public comprehensive cancer center in the state of North Carolina.
