Jennifer Player is Wednesday’s Hometown Hero.

Jennifer works with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County.  The organization is currently preparing for a big fundraising event on Friday, April 15.

The 2nd Annual High Heels and Hard Hats Fashion Show is happening at University Place.  It raises awareness of affordable housing in Orange County as well as money for building a home for a family.

From the event’s website:

“Guests can mix and mingle as local celebrities strut their stuff on the runway to raise money for affordable housing. Some of this year’s models include former Chapel Hill Mayor Howard Lee, Hillsborough Mayor Tom Stevens, Susan Gravely, and Missy Julian Fox.”

Purchase tickets.

You can nominate your own Hometown Hero.  WCHL has honored local members of our community everyday since 2002.
