Bernadette Pelissier is Monday’s Hometown Hero.

After eight years of service as an Orange County Commissioner, Pelissier is retiring.  She will step down in December of 2016.

The Orange County Health Department recently named Pelissier Orange County’s 2016 Public Health Hero.  The Public Health Hero Award is given by the Orange County Health Department to honor community members who champion public health causes in the county.

Director of Public Health Colleen Bridger says, “We have truly appreciated having such an amazing public health advocate serving as a county commissioner.”

You can nominate your own Hometown Hero.  WCHL has honored local members of our community everyday since 2002.
