How are we going to build that Donald Trump wall?

John Oliver recently took on presidential hopeful Donald Trump with a segment on Last Week, Tonight called Make Donald Drumpf Again.  That segment has received over 22 million views on YouTube.

Now, Oliver is directing his satirical cannon at something near and dear to Trump.  His wall.

“It’s a big, dumb thing that only gets more expensive over time,” Oliver stated.

If that short summary is still too long, a news clip of a woman describing the wall might be better for you.

She was asked if she thought a fence that has already been built near her favorite golf course was helping with security.

“No.  Stupid.”

Oliver replied, “I think that woman said in 2 words what I’m taking 20 minutes to say in this piece.”

Perhaps the most unique part of these Last Week, Tonight take-downs is the source citing.  A Donald Trump claim about how much the wall would cost was taken down by a fact-checking Washington Post article.  They estimated that the Donald Trump wall would cost at least $25 billion.  That is well above any Trump estimate.  At one point, he told supporters the wall would cost $4 billion.

A bigger blow comes in the form of a Pew study regarding the unauthorized migrant population:

“Nearly half of all the unauthorized migrants now living in the United States entered the country legally through a port of entry such as an airport or a border crossing point where they were subject to inspection by immigration officials, according to new estimates from the Pew Hispanic Center.”

So, Last Week, Tonight asks, “Is his plan feasible?”
