After five weeks and hundreds of votes, Chapelboro is proud to announce that the winner of our inaugural Entertainment Bracket is Carrboro’s Cat’s Cradle! This Main Street institution has been rocking since the late 60s (though it was in Chapel Hill then). Ever since owner Frank Heath moved the club to Carrboro more than twenty years ago, it’s been the place every local and visiting act wants to play. From promising newcomers to the biggest names in music, everyone plays the Cradle. Nirvana, Arcade Fire, Superchunk – they’ve all had legendary nights at this legendary spot. And now you’ve chosen them as Chapelboro’s favorite entertainment venue!

Congratulations also to our runner-up, PlayMakers Repertory Company. Based at UNC’s Center For Dramatic Art, it produces nine plays a year, from new plays to beloved classics. And thanks to its talented stable of actors, you can see your favorite performers in wildly different roles all season long!

We want to recognize all the great venues who participated, including Final Four contenders Morehead Planetarium and North Carolina Botanical Garden, and Entertaining Eight Members Haw River BallroomThe ArtsCenterWeaver Street Lawn, and Ackland Art Museum!
