Today is Thursday, July 28, 2016.  Big dogs are getting into purses.  A makeup controversy with Miss Florida USA is resolved.  We learn about the nourishing nature of the McDonald’s logo.

Carrying Big Dogs

Paris Hilton and others carried their tiny dogs in handbags back in the 2000’s.  Now, the dogs have gotten larger.

Pet owners are placing their large dogs in tote bags and taking them on New York subways.  They are taking advantage of a rule that states, “No person may bring any animal on or into any conveyance or facility unless enclosed in a container.”

A Makeup Controversy with Miss Florida USA

Recently, Genesis Davila won the Miss Florida USA crown.  But, she was caught breaking the rules.  Davila used a professional makeup artist.  She even shared a photo on Instagram.

That’s against the rules.

So, the crown has been given to the runner-up, Linette De Los Santos.

 

 The History of the McDonald’s Arches

You know those arches.  It means you’re at McDonald’s.  But, how did they come up with it?

Ray Kroc built McDonald’s into a juggernaut.  He was considering changing the logo.  But, design consultant Louis Cheskin argued against it because those arches have a bit of Freudin symbolism.  According to Cheskin, they look like a pair of “nourishing breasts.”
