A repairman was rescued from a crane towering over the Carolina Square construction site on Wednesday afternoon.
Chapel Hill Fire officials say crews were called to the scene around three o’clock Wednesday after the repairman had a “medical issue” and was unconscious at the top of the crane. Chapel Hill Fire spokesperson Lisa Edwards said the man did regain consciousness before being lowered down. Edwards said the crane was malfunctioning and the repairman was with the crane operator attempting to fix the issue.
