The University of North Carolina announced on Friday that the school will respond to the NCAA’s amended Notice of Allegations on August 1.
UNC will post a copy of that response on the Carolina Commitment website.
The amended Notice of Allegations was submitted to the university on April 25. At the time, UNC was given 90 days to respond. Earlier this week, however, the university and other involved parties requested an additional week to respond.
The amended 12-page document that was released in April is different from the 55-page notice the university originally received in May 2015. The procedure leading to any NCAA decision was put on hold in August of 2015 when the university self-reported additional violations. UNC is facing five Level 1 infractions, the most serious the NCAA can bring, including Lack of Institutional Control. The amended notice did not mention men’s basketball or football.
