The plan already has approval from the UNC Board of Governors.

Cunningham told the committee that the facility will cost around 25 million dollars and be paid for though private funding with the Rams Club.

Tar Heel head football coach Larry Fedora said in a statement, “I appreciate the support and commitment from Bubba Cunningham, the Board of Trustees and The Rams Club. This facility will help us continue to build a championship program.”

In-state ACC foes Duke, North Carolina State and Wake Forest already have indoor facilities.

A site has not yet been approved for the new facility.
