UNC men’s basketball checks in at number five in the latest Associated Press poll.

The Tar Heels jumped up from number nine in last week’s rankings after victories over Boston College and Pittsburgh.

Carolina is now 21-4 on the season and 10-2 in conference play.

The Tar Heels have a tough stretch to close out the regular season, beginning with Duke coming to Chapel Hill on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils are back in the rankings at number 20 after knocking off Louisville (now ranked at number 18) and Virginia (remained at number seven) last week.

UNC is the top ranked member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Virginia checks in at number seven, followed by Miami – who Carolina plays on Saturday – at 11, Louisville, Notre Dame and Duke occupying spots 18-20.

The Tar Heels hold a one game lead over Miami in the ACC standings and the remaining slate includes Duke twice, and single matchups with Miami, NC State, Virginia and Syracuse.
