The third suspect arrested in connection with a January homicide in Efland appeared in Orange County Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Barry Holt has been charged with murder for the shooting death of 22-year-old Tevin Kendrick on January 18.

Kendrick was found in the parking area of the Efland – Cheeks Community Center near an open trunk of a sedan. Deputies said Kendrick was shot numerous times. Emergency officials declared Kendrick dead at the scene.

Holt appeared before District Judge Beverly Scarlett on Wednesday and will continue to be held under no bond. Holt is due back in court on April 4, the same day as two other suspects arrested in the case.

Jermauciyae Abram and Savian Turrentine appeared in court on Monday. Abram is facing a first-degree murder charge. Turrentine, meanwhile, has been charged with accessory after the fact to a felony.

An additional suspect was implicated during the court proceedings on Monday. Assistant District Attorney Jeff Nieman said in court that Turrentine’s charges were connected to an individual identified as Devon Harris. Nieman said that Turrentine, “knowing Devon Harris had committed that felony” provided “false information in a non-custodial interview on 1/27/16 to mislead investigators about his and Devon Harris’ whereabouts on 1/18/2016, stating that he and Devon Harris were at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Durham playing Xbox during the time of Tevin Kendrick’s murder.”

Officials with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said previously that charges against additional suspects are anticipated as the case progresses but there has been no confirmation from the Sheriff’s Office that Harris or any other suspects are in custody.
