Hillsborough Police are looking for a suspect that authorities say should be considered armed and dangerous after a shooting.

Police say one person has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Tuesday. But authorities are still looking for 21-year-old Frank Devar DeGraffenreid, who police say is known to frequent Chapel Hill, Durham and Hillsborough.

The suspects were wanted in an attempted armed robbery that resulted in a struggle and a shooting in the Fariview community, according to police. Officials say the victim was shot multiple times but his injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

Police say the shooting occurred after the victim gave the suspects a ride from the south side of Hillsborough to the northern portion of the town.

Takeem Haywood-Norris Turrentine, who is also 21, was arrested Wednesday. He is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and armed robbery and is being held under a $75,000 bond.

Warrants have been taken out for DeGraffenreid, meanwhile, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a felon and discharging a firearm in town limits.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding DeGraffenreid’s location to contact Sergeant Chip White by email or phone at (919) 732-9381, ext. 34. Callers can also anonymously leave information through the town’s website or the Hillsborough PD tip lie at (919) 732-3975; that number routes directly to voicemail and does not record phone numbers.
