Several incumbents made their re-election campaigns official as the filing period for the 2016 election began on Tuesday.

State Senator Valerie Foushee and House Representative Verla Insko, both Democrats, filed the paperwork to begin a new election cycle for the local state representatives.

Incumbent Democrats Mark Dorosin, Penny Rich and Renee Price filed for re-election bids to the Orange County Board of Commissioners. Dorosin and Rich are running for the two seats from District one, while Price is running for the seat from District two.

Stephen Halkiotis and Tony McKnight will also be running for re-election to the Orange County School Board.

Filing runs through noon on December 21.
