Chapel Hill Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who allegedly exposed himself and attempted to grab a passerby.

Police say a suspect, described as a 30-40 year old Hispanic male with a short haircut, allegedly exposed himself to a victim Sunday morning in the area of Granville Towers and Fraternity Court.

The man asked the victim for directions and waited for the victim to approach his vehicle, according to law enforcement, and as she got closer she noticed he was unclothed from the waist down. Police say that is when he attempted to grab her by the arm. The victim was able to flee the area.

An additional report of a suspicious person was made a short time later, according to police. Authorities say no indecent exposure was committed in the second report, but it occurred in the same area, at around the same time and involved a suspect of the same description.

Police say the second passerby left the area without speaking to the suspect.

The suspect was last seen in a red four-door sedan.
