Today is Wednesday, October 14, 2015.  An aunt sues nephew for being excited about seeing her.  Plastic surgeons are getting a boost to their business because of selfies.  A cheetah cub and a puppy become friends.

Aunt Sues Nephew

Sean Tarala was excited to see his aunt show up at his 8th birthday party.

That was his first mistake.

Little Sean jumped off of his new bike and screamed, “Auntie Jen! Auntie Jen!” when his aunt, Jennifer Connell, arrived at the party.  Sean flew at his aunt and she tried to catch him.  Connell could not catch her nephew.  She fell to the ground and broke her wrist.

So, the aunt sued her nephew for $127,000.  The lawsuit claims, “The injuries, losses and harms to the plaintiff were caused by the negligence and carelessness of the minor defendant in that a reasonable eight years old under those circumstances would know or should have known that a forceful greeting such as the one delivered by the defendant to the plaintiff could cause the harms and losses suffered by the plaintiff.”

It has been tough for the aunt.  According to the Connecticut Post, she recently said, “I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d’oeuvre plate.”

The horror.

Unfortunately for Auntie Jen, a jury ruled against her.  It only took them 20 minutes to decide.

Selfies Lead to Plastic Surgery

The pressure to look good in their selfies is just too much for some.  Selfies have to a spike in plastic surgery.  Psychologist Sandy Hotchkiss said the boost has too many young people getting addicted to selfies. “Our values lean toward the shallow end of the value pool where things like physical beauty and material success are more important than things like compassion, courage, and kindness,” she said.
