The need to conform starts early.

For me, it was elementary school, when I had to have a powder blue satin jacket with Shaun Cassidy’s picture on it and a comb in my back pocket so I could blend in at the roller rink. I was painfully attuned to the in-crowd, and desperately wanted to fit in and look like everyone else.

Then I grew up, but I still struggle in walking the edge between conforming and pursuing goals outside of the box.

Those who are living to their full potential are not concerned with the in-crowd or with staying in a job they hate for the insurance. They are much more attuned to pursuing what makes them happy. They are out in the world manifesting their potential because nothing feels as good as the feeling of knowing they are doing what they came here to do.

People who live with this kind of courage are rare. Find them. These are your people. They will “get” you and give you the freedom to be who you were meant to be.

Live today as a non-conformist. Do something outside of your comfort zone.
