UPDATE: The ACC has issued a “reprimand” to Grayson Allen for his actions in Thursday’s game.

Duke guard Grayson Allen is having a strong sophomore season.  He’s averaging more than 20 points a game and is a big reason why the Blue Devils are ranked No. 15 in the nation.

But, Grayson Allen seems to have a problem.

He can’t stop tripping players.

On February 8, Allen missed a layup against Louisville and fell to the ground.

Raymond Spalding grabbed the rebound and started to dribble.

He didn’t get far.

Allen tripped him.  It was pretty blatant and resulted in a flagrant foul against the Duke sophomore.

Duke players have been despised by opposing fans for decades.  Once upon a time, a Duke player hit a big shot.  Minutes before that big shot, that Duke player stomped his foot on the chest of an opposing player.  Years later, ESPN made a documentary about the hatred for that Duke player.

Grayson Allen must want his own documentary.

On Thursday night, Allen struck again.

A Duke victory over Florida State was imminent.  The score was 80-65 with 5 seconds to go.  Then, this happened.

No foul.

ESPN’s Danny Kannell called it a “jerk move.”

Florida State’s Xavier Rathan-Mayes was latest victim of a Grayson Allen trip.  Grayson Allen told the Fayetteville Observer, “It was really nothing.”

Ross Martin of 247 Sports says the ACC will review the play.

No mention in the News & Observer.  Deadlines (UPDATE: They mentioned it.)

Will the ACC suspend Allen?  Can Allen stop tripping opponents?  How will this impact the Ted Cruz campaign?

There are three games left on Duke’s regular season schedule: Pitt on Sunday; Wake on Tuesday; and Carolina Saturday.

The ACC doesn’t run their suspension plans by me.  So, I don’t know what they’re going to do.  But, I bet he plays against Carolina.  He could miss either Pitt or Wake.  The officials from that Duke and Miami football game are probably safe for now.

But, Grayson Allen is going to make another loathsome move.

Prepare yourself for it.  I suggest watching a supercut of Kevin from The Office.
