PORCH (People Offering Relief for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Homes) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, grassroots organization whose mission is to feed the hungry in our community.
PORCH collects nonperishable food items which are distributed to eight local pantries. It also collects monetary donations to purchase fresh vegetables, fruits, milk, eggs and ground beef for 220 local families living in poverty.
Over 25% of kids attending the local schools are living in poverty, and demand for PORCH services is on the rise. We are expanding our programs to meet the needs of local families struggling with food insecurity.
Join PORCH on Sunday, November 24th from noon to 4pm for the Ten Thousand Villages Fundraiser. 100% of cash donations go directly to getting food in the hands of those in need.
Suggested Giving Levels:
$5 Buys three dozen eggs or 2 pounds of ground beef.
$10 Buys gallons of milk for 3 families.
$15 Buys a big bag of produce for one family.
