Join Voices for their holiday performances of The Sounds of Christmas! on Dec. 13 at 8 pm and Dec. 14 at 3 pm. Each year the chorus transforms UNC’s Hill Hall Auditorium with festive lights, red poinsettias and music that can thaw the Grinch himself. They fill the stage with an orchestra and their 100-voice choir. This year’s music offers both sacred and secular selections. The sacred carol medleys are by renowned British composers Ralph Vaughan Williams and Gustav Holst and will feature baritone Bobb Robinson of the UNC Music Department. The other selections are Joy to the World, The Holly and the Ivy, The First Noel and then there is Jingle Bells (the fastest tempo you’ve ever heard!), White Christmas, Silver Bells and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, plus some carols for the audience to sing with the orchestra. Tickets are $20 and $6 for students. Show your holiday spirit and wear red to the performance!
