The Chapel Hill Philharmonia will perform a classical concert with music by Hungarian, Czech, and Austrian composers. Pianist Greg McCallum is featured soloist in Bartok’s virtuosic “Piano Concerto #3″. An outstanding and versatile artist, McCallum has played on four continents, won numerous awards, and appeared on radio and television. Conductor Donald Oehler will lead the orchestra in Smetana’s “Sarka”, an exciting and dramatic tone poem from the work “Ma Vlast”. Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante in Eb for Winds and Orchestra” features wind players of the orchestra (oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon) in an inventive and delightful piece. Admission is free.
