Cat’s Cradle on Feb 19th
American reggae music pioneers John Brown’s Body have announced the beginnings of a winter tour with shows scheduled up and down the East Coast. The ‘future roots’ band will begin their tour in Portland, ME, at Port City Music Hall and continue on to Higher Ground in Burlington, VT and then to the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Joining JBB on all three dates are friends Pimps of Joytime. After a short break the group will play Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia, and then head eastward hitting a number of cities in Virginia and the Carolinas. The band will conclude the first half of their winter tour at Jack Rabbits in Jacksonville as well as the Virginia Key Grassroots Festival in Miami, FL.
John Brown’s Body had a very memorable 2013. Highlights include the Summer Camp Music Festival, in Chillicothe, IL, in May, The String Cheese Incident’s Horning’s Hideout over the summer, a 3-night run in Philadelphia & Baltimore and Reggae on the River in NYC with Groundation in October. The group closed out 2013 with a successful California tour alongside Stick Figure and Alific in November.
The band will be on the road in support of their newly released album, Kings and Queens, which dropped in April 2013. Kings And Queens is a synthesis of every aspect of John Brown’s Body’s storied career. After nearly two decades in the spotlight, the pioneering band has crafted their ultimate composition by weaving together the inspirational styles from which they learned that creates a unique sound that is solely JBB.
