As part of festivities around the installation of Carol Folt as UNC’s chancellor, Carolina faculty will participate in three academic panel discussions on the topics of innovation, water – the focus of Carolina’s two-year academic theme – and the future of the U.S. public research university.
The panel discussion, Innovation and Impact, runs from 3:40-4:15 p.m. in the Chancellor’s Ballroom
Moderator: Kristen M. Swanson. Swanson is the dean of UNC’s School of Nursing, Alumni Distinguished Professor at UNC and associate chief nursing officer for academic affairs at UNC Hospitals.
Cheryl Woods Giscombe, an assistant professor in the UNC School of Nursing.
Zeynep Tufekci, an assistant professor in UNC’s School of Information and Library Science.
Will Vizuete, associate professor in the environmental sciences and engineering department in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
