Hear Our Voices: An Art Installation by the UNC School of Social Work

UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work graduate students will debut an art installation on April 24, 2017 featuring the voices of marginalized North Carolinians who will share their experience of history with a wider audience through short videos, audio recordings, photographs, artwork, and transcripts.. The installation, titled Hear Our Voices, will showcase the oral histories of North Carolinians from all walks of life, focusing on those who are often ignored, discriminated against or powerless.
The art installation will be presented 1–5 p.m. on April 24, 2017, in the Tate-Turner-Kuralt Building on UNC’s campus (325 Pittsboro Street, Chapel Hill). The event is free and open to the public.
Oral histories collected through the project will be included in future MSW courses and submitted to UNC Libraries to be considered for inclusion in archival collections.
