Started in the UK by Jon Underwood and based on the work of Swiss sociologist, Bernard Crettaz, the Death Cafe phenomenon has recently made its way across the pond and into the United States. Focused on the “increase of awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives,” the gathering serves as a safe place to share ones questions, concerns or fears about death in an open, respectful and confidential environment. And of course, the evening would not be complete without nourishing food, refreshing drinks…and cake! Contact Rev. Rosemary Hyde at email@example.com for more information.
