Featured readers at the monthly Second Thursday poetry series will be Becky Gould Gibson, author most recently of Heading Home, and Scott Owens, whose 11th book of poems is titled Eye of the Beholder. Gibson is the recipient of Texas Review Press’s 2006 X.J. Kennedy Prize, the North Carolina Poetry Society’s 2008 Brockman-Campbell Award, the 2012 William Matthews Prize from the Asheville Poetry Review, and the 2012 International Publication Prize from Atlanta Review. Owens’s work has received awards from the Academy of American Poets, the Pushcart Prize Anthology, the Next Generation/Indie Lit Awards, the NC Writers Network, the NC Poetry Society, and the Poetry Society of SC.
