25 Years of Living the Carolina Way!
The Carolina Blood Drive — originally known as the University-Wide Blood Drive — began in 1989 at the behest of Chancellor Paul Hardin, who was well aware of the critical need for blood during the summer months when most of the students were away and many faculty and staff were on vacation. That first year the drive collected approximately 580 units over two days.
The Carolina Blood Drive has continued to grow and become a tradition. It has flourished over the years due to the continued giving spirit of the Carolina faculty, staff, and students. We have also seen the outpouring of support from the Chapel Hill and Carrboro community who have come to the blood drive in recent years. With your help it will continue to save lives and give hope to those who truly need it.
We invite you, your co-workers, family and friends to attend the 25th anniversary of the Carolina Blood Drive on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 7am – 6pm at the Dean E. Smith Center. Our goal once again is for the Heels to collect 1000 units of blood to help save lives and promote healing in hospitals across the Carolinas Region of the American Red Cross. With your help, we can be successful.
The need for blood is constant. Give the gift of life, give blood.
Thank you to our sponsors!
The Carolina Blood Drive couldn’t accomplish it’s goal without the help of our wonderful sponsors!
