On Sunday, February 14, the Chapel Hill Philharmonia performs three well-loved classical compositions. Conductor Donald Oehler will lead the orchestra in Wagner’s “Overture to Rienzi”, an early audience favorite. Ravel’s mesmerizing “Bolero” will follow. Mozart’s intense Symphony #40 concludes the program. Ravel’s work is noted for requiring an expanded orchestra, with saxophones and extra percussion.
