Crash on I-40 WB Between NC-54 and US 15-501 Causes Friday Traffic Headache

A crash on I-40 westbound after the NC-54 exit (MM 273) and before the exit for US 15-501 caused major problems for commuters Friday afternoon. The left lane was blocked as a result of the accident.  Earlier, two left lanes on the westbound side were blocked. North Carolina’s HB2 law has drawn headlines across the country.  Many media outlets refer to it as the “bathroom bill.”  But, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah shined a light on another part of the law.  HB2 bans discrimination on the basis of “race, religion, color, national origin, or biological sex.”  Sexual orientation and gender identity are not protected according to the law. Olympic Pride, American Prejudice is a documentary that tells the story of 18 African American Olympians who won medals at the infamous 1936 Berlin Olympics.  The film follows 16 men and 2 women who were treated like second class citizens in their own country and who were competing in Adolf Hitler’s Germany. Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in North Carolina and several other key battleground states in the race for the presidency, according to a survey done by Public Policy Polling.  The survey was conducted after Monday night’s debate between the two candidates.  Public Policy Polling conducted the survey on behalf of VoteVets Action Fund.
