    Tar Heels Fall To Long Beach State, 12-5

    North Carolina saw its season come to an end with a 12-5 loss to Long Beach State Monday afternoon at McKethan Stadium. Long Beach scored twice in the seventh after having two on with one out when the game was halted late Sunday due to torrential rain and unplayable field conditions.

    Tar Heels-Dirtbags Contest To Resume Monday

    Game five of the 2014 NCAA Gainesville Regional between North Carolina and Long Beach State was halted due to rain with the Dirtbags leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh and will be resumed Monday at noon at McKethan Stadium.

    Tar Heels Fall To LBSU 6-1 In NCAA Opener

    Long Beach State had all five of its hits in a six-run fourth and Andrew Rohrbach worked into the ninth for the second-seeded Dirtbags, who defeated No. 3 seed North Carolina 6-1 Friday afternoon at the University of Florida’s McKethan Stadium.

    2014 UNC Women’s Soccer Schedule Released

    The University of North Carolina has announced its 2014 women’s soccer schedule on Monday and it features 10 games against teams which played in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, including defending champion UCLA, runner-up Florida State and semifinalist Virginia Tech.

    Former UNC All-America Art Weiner Passes Away at Age 87

    Art Weiner, former University of North Carolina football star and member of the College Football Hall of Fame, died Christmas evening at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro at the age of 87.

    UCLA Eliminates UNC Women’s Soccer From NCAAs

    The NCAA quarterfinal matchup between second-ranked UCLA and fifth-ranked North Carolina lived up to its billing Saturday night as the Bruins advanced to the NCAA College Cup for the first time since 2009, beating the Tar Heels 1-0 in double overtime at Fetzer Field.
